Company description:: On the 1st of May 2004, a further ten countries will join the existing 15 member states of the European Union (EU) in a move which will prompt significant changes to the European Labour market say experts at MnM international, The European Recruitment and Consultancy Bureau.
The enlargement of the EU will fundamentally change and enhance the Labour market systems of the ten new countries requiring harmonisation to ensure they are in line with EU legislation. MnM wishes to draw your attention for some of the areas to be affected, which will in one way or another affect the recruitment industry. Areas such as: consumer and competition law, social security, employment law, commercial law, and data protection.
Dr Lucas Dupoint, Director of Communication at MnM International, says:
"The need for a large measure of employment and social security harmonisation is inevitable, the list of areas affected is huge, and the compliance clock is ticking.
"Small, Medium size and Large national organisations should be re-evaluating their labour force now to enable them to implement necessary changes to cope with any unforeseen mass-exit of their staff who will be taking the advantage of wider choice and better conditions of employment in the already existing member countries.
It should also be noted that these changes will have implications not just for local national organisations that operate within the new countries, but also for those organisations which plan to invest in these ten new member countries.
"One cannot emphasise enough that, with only a few months remaining, businesses need to act now to ensure they are fully compliant with the new largely harmonised employment and social security environment."
